Yeshiva School Bus Accident In Spring Valley

The Journal News reported an accident on Church Street between two school buses in Spring Valley this morning before 8am. Moishe Eisenbach of New Square, the driver of the Yeshiva Avir Yakov bus, ran a stop sign at the West Street intersection and hit an East Ramapo school van, pushing it 40 feet into a telephone pole and onto St. John the Baptist Church property. None of the children on board the yeshiva bus were injured though the 68 year-old East Ramapo van driver was treated at Nyack Hospital with minor injuries. Spring Valley Police Lieutenant Jack Bosworth commented that, “This could have been a disaster,” as the van just happened to be empty at the time. WRCR spoke with Mike Donovan at Orange & Rockland Utilities who explained that the power was not lost to the 15 customers affected in the area and the pole continues to be worked on through the afternoon.
