Sparaco Jail Time Begins This Weekend

The Journal News reported the sentencing of Rockland County Legislator Frank Sparaco today for felony charges from November of last year to filing false nominating petitions. Sparaco plead guilty to filing petitions for individuals including his family members to fill vacancies on the Clarkstown Republican Party and was sentenced to serve eight weekends in jail as well as three years on probation from serving in any political capacity, except to vote. Sparaco could have been served with the maximum sentence of one year in jail by Judge Howard Gerber, for not complying with the parameters of his plea deal by his original sentencing date last week. His sentence is set to begin this Friday at the Rockland County Jail.
