Ex-Nyack College Softball Coach Also Harassed Players In California

New evidence of similar allegations against Kurt Ludwigsen has been discovered from 2013 in Sonoma County, California. Ludwigsen, 43, of Ridgewood, New Jersey, was arrested Thursday, facing 100 counts of sexual offenses brought forth by members of the Nyack College softball team. Before Nyack College, Ludwigsen coached in Sonoma County for 10 years, 2 years as a volunteer assistant softball coach at Sonoma State University, then founded the Nor Cal Assault, a junior Olympic softball program for elite teen players. In reported cases in California, Petaluma police Lt. Dan Fish said, “There probably was some inappropriate behavior…nothing higher than misdemeanor sexual harassment.” Ludwigsen was not prosecuted as the girls came forward years after the incidents took place, when the statute of limitations ran out. His attorney, David Goldstein maintains his innocence, blaming the girls for making up the allegations after being disciplined for their game performance. Ludwigsen plead not guilty in South Nyack Village Court on Monday and is out on $1,500 bail.
