Police Testifies As Lacey Spears Trial Continues

The Lacey Spears trial is continuing with the most recent court hearing on Tuesday. Evidence in the Chestnut Ridge mother’s case in which she is accused of killing her 5 year old son, Garnett, with fatal doses of sodium, was brought forward by prosecutors including items from her former home in the Fellowship community in Chestnut Ridge. A Police officer with the Ramapo department was called to testify who stated that he was one of those who searched her home for evidence, seizing literature on sodium levels, medicine and vitamins, as well as feeding tubes and bags. During the testimony, the officer stated that the home was left unwatched for 48 hours before a neighbor came forward with a feeding bag that tested positive for sodium. Defense claims that there was opportunity for the evidence to be tampered with and prosecutors are continuing their case that the mother purposely poisoned her son to make him sick.
