Abuse Claims by Ex-Teacher’s Aide Against BOCES Principal

According to an audio recording made by a former teacher’s aide for the Hilltop School Special Education Program, Principal Kimberly Taylor can be heard verbally abusing students at the school during a group rehearsal for graduation from 2011. Kenneth Egan released the recording as part of a lawsuit he filed against Rockland BOCES after he was allegedly fired just before his tenure because he raised complaints against Taylor. Egan stated that several incidents of abuse include physically hurting children by throwing them into the floor and into the walls. In the recording, Taylor is heard yelling profanities at two children in front of a group of 250 students, calling one a ‘retard’ and an embarrassment while children laugh. Egan’s attorney Randolph McLaughlin stated that they will be suing to ensure that proper actions are taken against Egan’s former employers and Principal Taylor. McLaughlin also added that his client believes that there is a definite connection between his loss of a job and coming forward with complaints of abuse. BOCES Superintendent Mary Jean Marsico would not confirm Taylor’s voice and contends that corrective action was taken after the 2011 incident.logo_msthd-rcklnd
