Legislator Frank Sparaco Pleads Guilty to Corruption Charges

Rockland County District Eleven Legislator Frank Sparaco pleaded guilty to 10 misdemeanor charges to allegedly take a hold of the Republican party by filing falsely with the Board of Elections. He is set to resign his post by April 15. As part of the plea, Sparaco will serve jail time for eight weekends as well as three years probation. Last November, Sparaco was arrested and charged with 19 counts of first degree offering a false instrument for filing and first-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument. The charges allege that Sparaco filed petitions with false information about individuals he hoped to get elected to the Clarkstown Republican Committee. He faces up to seven years in prison if convicted.
