21 Year Old Jumped at Palisades Center on an Alcohol Fueled Dare

21 Year-old Nicholas DiBlasi from Park Ridge, New Jersey jumped from the 2nd floor at the Palisades Center near Macy’s yesterday afternoon at around 12:30pm. DiBlasi was allegedly incited by a friend to jump on a $50 bet.  Police Sgt. Richard Von Ronn is quoted as saying, “It wasn’t a suicide attempt. He didn’t fall. This was just a stunt.” It was also revealed that alcohol was consumed by DiBlasi and his friend prior to arriving at the mall. A charge of second degree reckless endangerment was brought against him because of the immediate danger his stunt caused in the pedestrian-heavy public space. The 20 foot-fall caused him minor injuries which were treated at Nyack Hospital. This is the second such incident at the Palisades Center in six months as a 54 year old man accidentally fell to his death in October of last year.
