Counterfeit Bills Used in Nanuet

According to Clarkstown Police three businesses in Nanuet have received fake cash in the past few weeks. Starting on January 26 reports of counterfeit $100 bills have been filed with police, starting with a bank on Route 59, after a woman allegedly used a fake bill for payment. The second incident occurred on Friday when a gas station received a counterfeit hundred, and the third when a man used one to pay for a taxi on North Pascack Road on Sunday. Police stated that they are investigating the incidents, which appear to be unrelated, and are asking that businesses in the area remain aware of money, and always check the authenticity of bills.
