Thruway Authority Budget Passed

The New York State Thruway Authority approved a budget on Friday, for $1.7 billion. The budget leaves a funding gap of $36 million and shows that the state can expect at least a 5% raise in revenue from toll costs in 2015, though the board did not announce a price for tolls and are expecting to spend $967 on the New Tappan Zee bridge. Recently there has been speculation that tolls for the new bridge, which is costing about 3.9 billion to build and to replace the old one, could reach as high as $16, though officials have not confirmed a cost.
