Teens Commit Hate Crime in the Palisades Center Mall

According to Clarkstown police, two teens were arrested this week for assault and hate crimes from an incident that occurred on Black Friday. Police stated that Chris Bujaj of Tuckahoe and Ardijan Mehaj of Yonkers, both 17, were arrested and charged with misdemeanors third-degree assault and third-degree assault as a hate crime after it was discovered that they were behind attacks on various people at the Palisades Center Mall, leaving five with injuries ranging from bruising to a broken wrist. The two teenagers’ actions have been charged as hate crimes because two of the victims were orthodox jewish and according to police, were called “dirty jews” during the attacks. Police are looking for a third young man who took part in the incident, who is described as white 5 feet 6 to 8 inches tall wearing a gray hoodie with a black vest over it.
