Parole Officers Suing Ramapo and Suffern Police

A lawsuit filed by four parole officers from Ramapo claiming racial profiling will be served to the town and Suffern Police Department this week. African American parole officers Mario Alexandre, Samuel Washington, Anette Thomas-Prince, and Sheila Penister filed suits after a 2013 incident when they were allegedly held at gunpoint by white police officers with the Suffern Department while looking for parolees. Even after showing their badges they remained held by officers and stated they are seeking judgement for their accusations. The officers named in the suit will have 30 days after being served to respond to the claims.
