Clarkstown Police Looking Into Death of Student

A student living at the Summit School in Upper Nyack was found dead on the arrival of Clarkstown Police Friday after they responded to a call at the Children’s Residence around 6:30 in the morning. The school provides psychological care and education to children who suffer from emotional difficulties and houses 115 students aged 13-21. According to police an autopsy was completed on Friday, but the girl’s name and cause of death was not released. Summit School Principal Deborah Sherwood stated that the school is cooperating with the police, as well as providing counseling for the other students and send their thoughts and prayers to friends and family.
