Monsey School Principal Arrested

According to the Ramapo Police on Monday they arrested a principal of a boy’s yeshiva who was a respected rabbi in the orthodox Jewish community and was most recently working to reform the State Education Aid formula for the East Ramapo District. According to David Ascher, the attorney representing 71-year old Gavriel Bodenheimer, the man was being processed at the Rockland County Jail and the charges against him had remained sealed as of Monday afternoon, though they are set to be opened at an arraignment this morning. A unit within the District Attorney’s Office that handles sex crimes against minors led the investigation that resulted in Bodenheimer’s arrest. No information is known on the charges or arrest and Chief Assistant District Attorney Art Ferraro stated that the office would not be commenting on the case.
