Pedestrians Hit By Cars on Separate Occasions Identified

Police have released the name of a man who was struck and killed by a car in Monsey on Wednesday. According to Ramapo Detective Lt. Mark Emma 76-year old Moshe Cohen died at Good Samaritan Hospital after the 9:30 PM crash on Monsey Boulevard. Emma stated that 44-year old Rachel Friedman was driving the Honda CR-V that hit the man, she remained at the scene and was uninjured, police are unsure whether or not she will face charges. On Thursday around 2:46 PM police stated that Frances Devito, a Mahwah, New Jersey resident in her seventies, was hit by 82-year old Jack Fleisher of Suffern in the Walmart parking lot in Airmont. Police reported that Devito was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital for serious injuries. Police are again unsure if Fleisher will face charges and they ask any witnesses to either crash call the Ramapo Police Accident Investigation Unit at 845-357-2400.
