Man Charged with Attempted Murder in West Nyack

According to authorities a 23-year old man was accused of sexually abusing a female who shared a house with him and twelve other at a residential care home in West Nyack and is now facing charges of attempting to blow up the building. According to the indictment, Ethan Jimenez-Colon attacked members of the household, including staff members on May 28 and 29, and is being charged with first-degree attempted rape, first-degree sexual abuse, one count criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation, first-degree criminal sex act, two counts of first-degree burglary, first-degree attempted arson, and thirteen counts of second-degree attempted murder. District Attorney Thomas Zugibe stated on Wednesday that the defendant is accused of breaking into a female housemate’s room through the window twice and sexually assaulting her while choking and causing physical harm to her, after which he ignited the stove in an attempt to cause an explosion. Zugibe stated that Jimenez-Colon faces 25-years in prison.
