Ramapo Councilman Sets Meeting on Corruption

Ramapo Town Board member Daniel Friedman announced that he will be planning a meeting to, “put an end to criminal activity and any form of corruption.” In an email Friedman released he stated that at the meeting he will ask for public input on proposed legislation and discuss the “illegal activity by Supervisor St.Lawrence and his administration.” Member of the Preserve Ramapo group, Michael Castelluccio, stated that he is wary of Friedman because the Councilman has been voting in favor of much of St.Lawrence’s proposals, including the building of the Provident Bank Baseball Park, which according to Castelluccio many voters were opposed to. Friedman stated in response to those concerns that he voted in favor of the park because he was misinformed at the time. In March Friedman stated that he had voted to approve two controversial positions in the town of Ramapo because of misinformation about the pay and hour details. Shortly after he publicly released a letter that he sent to State Attorney General Eric Schneiderman and state Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli, asking for the state to step in with the town. The meeting will be held 6:00 PM on Tuesday at Ramapo Town Hall.
