July Hudson Boat Crash Driver Pleads Guilty

36-year old Jojo John of Nyack pleaded guilty on Monday to two counts of second-degree vehicular manslaughter for the July 26 boat crash on the Hudson River last summer that killed 30-year old Lindsey and her fiance’s best man 30-year old Mark Lennon. According to John’s attorney David Narain, his client expressed his condolences to the families of those killed and injured, including Stewart’s fiance Brian Bond who faced serious injuries when the boat crashed into a tethered Tappan Zee Bridge construction barge. The families of both Stewart and Lennon are suing the barge operators as well as john, Stewart’s stepfather came forward after the trial stating that the prosecution of John, who’s blood content that night was .15 percent that night, is only half of the justie the family is seeking and reached out to the Rockland District Attorney’s office to further look into the multiple insufficient lighting complaints. John’s sentencing is set for September 6 and he is facing two years in jail.
