Two Teens Harassed by Driver in Pearl River

Orangetown Police announced that they are investigating an incident in which two teenage girls were harassed by a man driving an SUV over the weekend. Police stated that they have yet to know if the incident is related to recent reports of at least three similar situations. According to officials on Sunday morning around 5:30 AM two sixteen year old girls were riding their bikes along Ehrhardt Road in Pearl River to pick up bagels for Mother’s Day when a man jogging by yelled inappropriate statements at them. As they continued biking, after ignoring him the girls reported to police that they were followed by the same man in a green SUV until they could get to a store and call police. The man was described as white, in his late thirties, with black hair, between 5’10” and 6’2″, wearing a white t-shirt and gray running shorts. The girls stated to police that the man waved, but did not contact them further. Again, police remind you to warn your children to run and scream to draw attention to themselves if approached and anyone with information should call Orangetown Police at 845-359-3700.
