A Pearl River private investigator recently recovered a stolen Norman Rockwell painting, worth a little more than a million dollars. Dean Golemis, who worked in the Rockland Sheriff’s Department as a detective for sixteen years before retiring in 2013, had been searching for the painting, titled “Sport” which depicted a fisherman in a rowboat wearing a yellow raincoat, since September when it was stolen from a Queens storage facility. Golemis worked with the New York City Police Department and his company Global Security and Investigative Services in Pearl River to track the painting to Ohio after responding to a phone call from someone who said they had the artwork by the popular artist that was on the cover of the April 1939 Saturday Evening Post.
