Stony Point Man Found Dead in Jersey Home

According to police the body of a Stony Point man was discovered in a Ringwood, New Jersey home, apparently the victim of a murder- suicide. Chief Assistant Prosecutor for Passaic County, Michael DeMarco, stated that the body of 23- year old Christopher Coogan was found having suffered from a gunshot wound along with the body of 43- year old home owner Seth Gunar at 12:58 Monday morning. According to DeMarco police are waiting for autopsy results for the two bodies from the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office in Newark. Stony Point Police stated that the other department informed them that Coogan appeared to be the victim. Coogan was a graduate of North Rockland High School and has had multiple arrests by the Stony Point Police Department, including grand larceny and criminal sale and possession of a controlled substance. Passaic Crime Unit is continuing investigations.
