Valley Cottage Woman’s Death Ruled as Homicide

According to Clarkstown Police on Saturday morning the body of an eighty- year Valley Cottage woman was discovered by her daughter at her home at 644 Andover Road. The body of Peggy Nadell was found a little after 9:00 AM, police stated that she had been stabbed and suffered from traumatic injuries sustained from a knife wound between Friday night and 9:15 AM Saturday morning. Nadell was a resident of Valley Cottage for fifty- years and was an active part of the political community, serving as a Rockland County Democratic Committee member and an activist for many causes, especially environmental and woman’s rights, and served on the Keep Rockland Beautiful Board. Police had initially called the death suspicious but are now ruling it as a homicide. Clarkstown Police will be working with the District Attorney’s office and are asking that anyone with information please call 845-639-5800.
