Rockland Reverend Dies from Burn Injuries

Reverend David Wentroble, age sixty of Central Presbyterian Church of Haverstraw passed away on Tuesday night from injuries he sustained in an accident at a Danbury, Connecticut gas station in December. While filling his cart at Wheels Citgo early in the morning of December 20 a nearby pump exploded. Wentroble suffered severe second and third- degree burns and was taken to Bridgeport Hospital’s burn unit, where, according to his friend and colleague Reverend Warren Brandt, he passed away joined by family. Brandt stated that Wentroble had been a pastor in Rockland for thirteen years and worked as the head of Pastoral Care at Nyack Hospital for three. The explosion has been ruled as an accident and funeral services will be held privately for family, though Nyack Hospital officials are discussing putting together a memorial service.
