Spring Valley Roads a Wreck During Storm

Spring Valley roads were dangerous Tuesday, when new Mayor Demeza Delhomme apparently ordered snow plow drivers to cease working and go home. According to Spring Valley Village Trustee Emilia White, she received numerous calls during Tuesday’s snow storm complaining about the dangerous conditions and when she reached out to the Department of Public Works they informed her of the mayor’s orders. When asked to comment the mayor simply stated to the Journal News that the streets would be cleaned. According to County Executive Ed Day he told the village to plow or someone else would and they would receive the bill. By 4:30 PM only a few plows were out and Delhomme was asking residents to stay off of the roads and commenting that plows would work through the night to clean the streets.
