Hi Tor List of Adoptable Pets 9/20/17

Casper is a 4 year-old male enthusiastic pit bull mix who was surrendered to the shelter because his owners had moved and weren’t taking him with them. Casper is a BIG sweet lovable goofball. Due to his size and strength he would do best with children 10 or older and would prefer to be the only pet of the household. Casper is sweet, lovable and loves people. He has an exuberant energy about him due to his working on walking on a leash without pulling in his obedience training. A family who would be willing to help Casper with his training and take him on long walks would make Casper very happy.

Lollipop is an active, energetic, 2 year-old terrier girl who loves to go for long walks/hikes, so a family who is active and has the time to give her the exercise she needs would be awesome. If you have another dog, then a meet and great would be needed to see if they get along. Lollipop is pretty playful and would prefer to not have cats in the house. She is very friendly and enjoys the company of humans. She will shower you with all the love and affection you need. Could you be the family who will give Lollipop her forever home?

Dallas is a 3 year-old male pit mix. His dream family is one with older kids or adults where he can be your one and only pet. He is young and energetic so he needs an experienced dog owner who is patient, calm & assertive. Dallas knows how to sit, lie down, give paw and walk well on a leash. He is also house-trained. Because he is young he will need you to continue his training to keep him well-behaved so he can grow into a fine young man. My owner should also be active and like to take long walks and play fetch. If you have a fenced-in yard that would be ideal. But after exercising, cuddling next to humans and giving gentle kisses is one of his favorite things. He’s been told he is a goofy silly boy and has the funniest expressions that will make you laugh. He loves car rides and is a well-behaved passenger so he can be your co-pilot. He has lots of love to give and is a good boy but the shelter is overwhelming for me. Would you be the family to give him a second chance?

Say hello to Antonio!! If you’re looking for a cuddly and loving little kitty, look no further! He has a lot of love to give and would love if you came by to meet him! You can send an email to Nixie at gentlesouls@aol.com to schedule a meet and greet!

Emma initially came to the shelter as a feral. Emma is one of the sweetest cats you’ll ever meet. She loves to play with the feather wand and she loves to be brushed! She is a guaranteed lap cat, so if you’re looking for a snuggly kitty, look no further! Emma would love if you came by to meet her! You can send an email to Nixie at gentlesouls@aol.com to schedule a meet and greet!

Savannah is a four month-old New Zealand female bunny and is as cute as can be! Can you believe this tiny little one is already using a litter box? Savannah is lovable and playful, and looking for a family of her own. She would do well with gentle children, under adult supervision, of course. Savannah can be adopted with her sister Shannon or by herself. Please email the shelter for more information, the email address is Hitorbunnytrail@gmail.com.

Hi Tor List of Adoptable Pets 9/14/17

Cocoa is a 5 year-old female pit bull mix who came to the shelter as a stray. This sweet girl came to the shelter in pretty bad shape. She was underweight, had some skin issues and we believe she was used for breeding. She doesn’t care for cats and would prefer to be the only dog at home. Cocoa is such a sweet loving dog who just melts in your arms, she just wants a family to be able to love!!! She knows her basic commands and responds well to verbal directions. She also loves her treats but, her favorite thing to do is snuggle close to her people. She truly connects with everyone she crosses paths with. Her new family will be so lucky to have her. Come by and meet this little sweetheart.

Onyx is eight years old and was surrendered by a landlord who had found him in her rental apartment. His owners moved out and left him alone to fend for himself with another dog. A couple weeks ago he was cowering in the corner of the kennel terrified and confused. The staff and volunteers refused to give up on this scared dog! After weeks of one on one time with staff, long walks with volunteers and lots of belly rubs, Onyx is ready to be adopted!

Roxy is a 7 month old lab/shepherd/pittie mix. She was recently surrendered to the shelter within the last week so we are still getting to know her. She is what we call a “pocket pittie” because she is tiny for her breed. For more information about this little one, please call the shelter.

Say hello to Margaery!! In addition to Margaery the shelter has 6 gorgeous little babies up for adoption, 3 boys and 3 girls! They’ve got a lot of love to give and would love if you came by to meet them! You can send an email to Nixie at gentlesouls@aol.com to schedule a meet and greet!

Cuteness Alert!!! This is Maggie and she is one of our longest residents at the annex. She loves to snuggle up on the bookshelf but she also loves to play with the feather wand! If you give her treats (especially Temptations) she will love you forever! We at the annex just don’t know why Maggie hasn’t been adopted yet because she really is a sweetheart! She wanted me to let you all know that she would love to have some visitors! You can send an email to Nixie at gentlesouls@aol.com to schedule a meet and greet

Hope is a little sweetheart! She is a female lionhead mix. She was rescued from an unfortunate case of neglect. Hope is doing well with her litter box training. She will be spayed prior to adoption. For more information, please email us at Hitorbunnytrail@gmail.com.

Hi Tor List of Adoptable Pets 9/7/17

Molly is a lovely loyal girl looking for her forever home where she can be queen of the castle, so no other pets please! She’s a 4 year old female pit bull terrier and has the most magnificent gray color or blue markings. She loves going for walks with her people. She stops and smells the air and just enjoys being outside and taking everything in. She knows her basic commands and will do anything for a treat! She has lived with children in her last home and is really just looking for her perfect forever family. Could that be you?

Brim is a lovely six year old terrier. He was surrendered to us and all we see at the shelter is an amazing dog. Brim is housebroken, he knows some basic commands and is all-around a great boy. His perfect family would have children ten or older being he is a large pup. He might like a canine companion but, no cats please. Come see Brim, you’re sure to love him as much as we do.

Can we say adorable! Lucky is a 2 year-old male terrier mix who came to the shelter as a stray. Poor Lucky was brought in when staff members were notified that he had been hit by a car. A nice man pulled him from the street and staff rushed him to the vet. Lucky loves to snuggle in blankets and sit next to his people. Lucky is still a young boy who is active and will need continued training going forward to show him the ropes of how to be a dog being much of his life has been living at the shelter. He would do best in a home with older kids who can help him learn to play fetch. He would prefer to be in a cat-free house and he is selective in his canine companions. He is a very friendly and sweet boy. Come in and ask about Lucky! Give him a little luck so he can find his forever home.

Could Bob get any cuter?!? This boy is one of the friendliest kitties you will ever meet. The second you sit on the floor he climbs into your lap and plops his butt down. We believe he was tossed out of a home when he was younger because he is too friendly to be a true feral. Because of his personality, we believe Bob would make a perfect indoor cat! You can send an email to Nixie at gentlesouls@aol.com to schedule a meet and greet!

Alvin and Simon are a dynamic bunny-brother duo new to Hi Tor. They were housed outdoors, and are adjusting well to living as house rabbits. We estimate their age at about 1 1/2 – 2 years. They will be neutered before adoption. We are looking for a loving home that would like to keep these two boys together. They love each other so. Email us at Hitorbunnytrail@gmail.com.

Hi Tor List of Adoptable Pets 8/31/17

Roxy is a 5 year-old pit mix and a sweetheart. She has great leash manners and knows all her basic commands. She is a short girl and more of a low rider in size. Roxy loves her people and would love a family of her own with children ten years or older and to be the only pet in her household. Roxy is a little beauty and is waiting for her forever family to love unconditionally. Come to the shelter to check out this darling girl.

Shamus is a beautiful 3 year old male Australian Shepherd mix who has a zest for life. He walks very nicely on a leash and really enjoys the fresh air and all the outdoor smells – they make him very happy. He is an active boy who loves to hike/walk/run and play fetch so if you’re active, Shamus would be your perfect exercise companion. The ideal home for Shamus would be a single owner in a quiet, calm home without a lot of foot traffic. Shamus is housebroken, gets along with other dogs but should be the only dog in the house. Shamus is a volunteer favorite and we know once you meet him you will fall in love too.

Lollipop is an active, energetic 2 year-old terrier girl who loves to go for long walks and hikes, so a family that’s active and has the time to exercise would be awesome. If you have another dog, then a meet and great would be needed to see if they get along, though she’d prefer to not have cats in the house. She is very friendly and enjoys the company of humans and will shower you with all the love and affection you need. Could you be the family who will give Lollipop her forever home?

Cute kitty “Meadow” was surrendered to the shelter in June 2015. She is now 10 yrs old…Meadow loves lounging around with her favorite volunteers. She loves snuggles and will joyfully roll around as a volunteer brushes her soft fur. She’s overweight and she’s on a diet, but we know being in a cage most of the day makes her depressed. We are sure that with some exercise, a healthy diet, lots of play time and a whole lot of love Meadow will be an amazing cat to her new family!

Caiden and Taylor are 10 week-old bunnies who were surrendered to the shelter after their owner could no longer take care of them. We would love to keep them together but both of these two cuties are available for adoption by contacting Hitorbunnytrail@gmail.com

Hi Tor List of Adoptable Pets 8/24/17

Desert is a five year-old male pit bull mix who was surrendered to the shelter. Desert is good with other dogs but is not good with cats. For a little guy he’s very strong so he will need a strong experienced owner and for that reason should be in a home with adults only. Desert is very friendly, he’s house-broken and he loves to play with toys. He especially loves to be outside playing and loves when you throw a ball to him. He would do well with an active couple.

Brim is a lovely six year-old terrier. He was surrendered to the shelter and all we see is an amazing dog. Brim is house-broken, he knows some basic commands and is all-around a great boy. His perfect family would have children ten or older considering he is a large pup. He might like a canine companion but, no cats please. Come see Brim, you’re sure to love him as much as we do.

Bee is a little pint-sized, almost three year-old bully mix. She is small on stature but don’t let this little petite girl fool you. She will hang with the big dogs when it comes to her distance of walking, playing or any activity that requires physical strength. Bee has a gregarious and exuberant personality. She absolutely adores people. Bee has been with the shelter a couple times and part of her coming back is probably her energy has been misunderstood. Bee is a high-energy girl and is happiest when she has a lot of activity such as long walks and playing time. She would really benefit from an owner who will include Bee in their long walks and hikes. Bee would prefer to be an only pet and live with teenage children. Do you want a bestie whose face will make you melt and will be able to keep up with you on your long walks and hikes? If so, come and visit Bee at the shelter for more information.

Penny is an adorable nine month-old female and is sure to steal your heart! Penny was a mom at a young age. She has raised her babies, and is looking for a family of her own. For more information, please email us at Hitorbunnytrail@gmail.com.

Meet baby Valentino!!! Valentino is one of the shelter’s little kittens and is currently being fostered in New City. He is a handsome little boy available for adoption, along with his brother and best friend, Finn. You can send an email to Nixie at gentlesouls@aol.com if you are interested in adopting!

Hi Tor Adopts 20 Percent of Pets at Weekend “Clear the Shelters” Event (Audio)

The Hi Tor Animal Care Center’s 3rd annual “Clear the Shelters” event shattered their goals, but there’s still lots of work to do. The weekend’s event in Pomona found forever homes for 20 percent of the shelter’s population, including 37 dogs and cats, three bunnies, two guinea pigs and one ferret. It’s important for pets to be adopted quickly from the shelter, because the longer they stay there the more costly it becomes for the organization. As such, Hi Tor board member Nixie Gueits said, there are other programs the shelter runs all year round…

Hi Tor List of Adoptable Pets 8/17/17

Meet Xena. She is about seven years-old and a boxer mix. Since she is brand new to Hi Tor, so we are currently learning about Xena but from what we see, she’s just a doll. She likes to be pet and walks nicely on a leash. And that tongue! She sticks it out just a little bit when she’s relaxed. She was brought to us when her family could no longer care for her but, by her sweet nature she must have been loved. Xena is also a very laid-back kinda girl.

Trevor is a handsome lad. He is a terrier mix and was picked up as a stray. Trevor is about two years-old and a strong guy. He knows his basic obedience but has been working very hard to perfect his leash manners. He is also social and loves people.

Boogie is a 10-month-old terrier mix. His markings are a beautiful brindle and he is great with humans of all ages, young and old. He is the mayor at Hi Tor’s adoption events at the Boulders games and loves everyone he meets. Boogie was picked up as stray running loose and he would love to find his forever home.

Frosty is a 7 year-old American Eskimo. He was surrendered to the shelter when his prior owners moved and could not take him and his fur sibling, Coby, with them. He is sweet, loving and social. Frosty loves belly rubs and is very affectionate. Both these guys are just lovable pets looking for someone to be their forever family.

Coby is a ten year-old beagle. He is a bit overweight but the staff is working on his diet and exercise program. Coby is loving and very social. He is housebroken and just an overall sweet boy. Beagle lovers, come visit him today.

Hi Tor List of Adoptable Pets 8/3/17

Meet Ruby. She’s about 3 1/2 years old and as sweet as they come. She is a happy go lucky meatball. She came to the shelter overweight and we have been working to slim this beauty down. She knows some basic commands and takes treats very gently. And with most meatball shaped pups, she loves her treats! She has shown curiosity of other dogs and we believe she might like some other canine companions therefore a meet and greet would be necessary for a multiple dog home. She is active and would love someone who would take her for long walks and just enjoy her. We think due to her strength older children would be a better fit than younger. If you are looking for an absolute chunky (soon to be thinner) stunner, come visit Ruby at Hi Tor.

Ginger is a sweet terrier mix and she’s about 18 months old. Ginger is short in height. She was brought in to the shelter as a stray recently from Spring Valley. She has been working on her leash manners with our volunteers. She loves people and is curious around other dogs. We are learning more about Ginger and will update you in the coming weeks. From what we see, she is an absolute sweetie.

Lucky is a 2 year old male Pit Bull mix who came to the shelter as a stray. He would prefer to be in a cat free house and he is selective in his canine companions. He is a very friendly and sweet boy. Come in and ask about Lucky! Give him a little luck so he can find his forever home.

This is our sweet baby, Bob! This boy is one of the friendliest kitties that you will EVER meet. If you have any other questions, please email Nixie.

Emma came to the shelter as a feral but she is one of the sweetest cats you’ll ever meet. She loves to play with the feather wand and she loves to be brushed! She is a GUARANTEED lap cat, so if you’re looking for a snuggly kitty, look no further! Emma would love if you came by to meet her!

Bunnies Savannah and Shannon are as beautiful as their mom, these New Zealand babies are as cute as can be! Can you believe these tiny little ones are already using a litter box? They are lovable, and playful, and need a family to call their own. These girls can be adopted together, or separately. Please email us for more information, Hitorbunnytrail@gmail.com.
