Jordan Baker Joins Rockland Legend Steve Possell on WRCR AM 1700’s Morning Show

Actress Jordan Baker, who has had roles on the radio station-focused TV programs NewsRadio and Frasier, has joined the Morning Show with Steve Possell Monday, February 29th, 2016. Baker replaces Meredyth Glover, who is leaving to pursue other interests. Her last Morning Show was Friday, February 26th.

Baker’s acting career began in 1989. She has been seen on Broadway and in numerous New York plays, and on television in The West Wing, The New Adventures of Old Christine, Blue Bloods, Madam Secretary, The Americans and The Good Wife. Her most recent film project, 5 Flights Up, starred Diane Keaton and Morgan Freeman. She will also be seen in the soon-to-be-released film, 5 Doctors.

She has worked across all media as an actor and it has been a lifelong dream to be on the radio. Baker lives in Tappan with her husband, actor Kevin Kilner.
“We are excited to welcome Jordan to the WRCR family and look forward to hearing her unique insight and observations on The Morning Show,” said Dr. Alexander Medakovich, President of Alexander Broadcasting Company. “Jordan brings to WRCR her experience of an exciting Hollywood career with the home-town sensibilities that come from living in our listening area here in the lower Hudson Valley. Her give-and-take with radio legend Steve Possell weekday mornings is sure to be a hit with our listeners and advertisers.”

Car Went into the Greenburgh Library

Photo of the car that went into the Greenburgh library earlier today.  Fortunately, there were no injuries. The town is going to order concrete bollards (barriers) to prevent this from occurring in the future.

Tower Construction for AM-1700 Completed!

Today, May 24th, an important part of WRCR’s new transmitting facility has been completed. It’s our new 198 foot tower. One important enhancement includes its 7-foot concrete base, which is elevating it above any possible flood water levels.

Here is “The Crew” that built it: In foreground, left to right: Tom Ray, Project Engineer, Dr. Alex Medakovich, President, Alexander Broadcasting, Inc. and, of course, Northeast Towers construction team!

DID YOU KNOW?

The new WRCR AM-1700 is broadcasting in standard analog AM, combined with the new digital, crystal clear HD Radio, on the same channel, AM-1700.

What does it mean to you? If you listen in HD, it means clear, crisp audio on AM, which sounds better than satellite radio and is close to FM-quality. It also means the same level of sound fidelity at a distance, as you have close to our transmitter in Rockland. It is a robust technology that overcomes interference from power lines and other sources, like cell phones and other electronic equipment.

We will help you find the right HD Radio receiver and we will also give away quite a few to our loyal listeners, as thay become available!

SO, STAY TUNED!!
