Hi Tor List of Adoptable Pets 4/4/19

972 days at the shelter….Brooklyn is a 6-year-old tuxedo terrier mix who was surrendered to the shelter through no fault of his own when his family was evicted. Brooklyn is a very friendly outgoing boy who recently has become the first dog in the new Hi Tor Dog Trotters Club! Brooklyn loves to run and has benefited, both behaviorally and emotionally, from this new running club! He would make the perfect partner for a runner, hiker, biker or walker. He is so smart and knows all his commands and even a few tricks. He is neutered and housebroken. Brooklyn should be with older teens and adults because he is so active. For more info on Brooklyn, please email Doug@hitor.org

You might remember Buster’s cute face being shared all over because he was found tied up to a store in Suffern and left all alone on March 4th. No one ever came for him so now he is available for adoption. The staff is guessing Buster is about 4 years old. He is a calm, low-key kind of dog. He likes to explore the outdoors but doesn’t need to walk far. He enjoys sitting with the volunteers and listening to them talk about all the dogs. He hasn’t been tested with cats yet, but he doesn’t seem to mind other dogs. So, if you have another dog, Buster would love to try to meet with her or him. He hasn’t been around a lot of little kids yet, but they may take him out this weekend to see how he does. If you’re interested in Buster email Doug@hitor.org or come visit him this weekend!

Sparky was adopted from Hi Tor as a young pup about 3 years ago. He was brought back in November because his owner could no longer keep him when he moved to a new apartment. He is an independent, handsome, active dog who loves to be outside! Like Brooklyn, Sparky was recently chosen as another dog to run with the Hi Tor Dog Trotters club. He loves this program a lot and gets so excited when he sees his running partner coming to get him! His manners and temperament really have improved now that he gets to exercise a couple days a week. Sparky still needs a little work and would have to be the only furry being in the house. He should also only go to a home with teenagers and adults. Little humans sometimes make him nervous. Please email Doug@hitor.org if you are interested in Sparky. Being back at the shelter has been hard on him and he would love nothing more than to have a home again.

Grayson is about a year old. This stray cat was brought to the shelter last June. Grayson is quite handsome, but no one has really been interested in adopting him. We are not sure why he doesn’t catch people’s eye. The volunteers and staff enjoy just hanging around with him, but he is not much into to being carried. He just wants to lounge with you. A year is a long time to not have a home. For more information on Grayson, please email amber@hitor.org.

Don’t let the name fool you. Boris is a female 2 1/2 year-old cat. She was brought to the shelter with her sister, Barbie, who is also up for adoption. She really doesn’t mind cats and she very much enjoys people. If you are looking for a bestie in your home, Boris is your cat! She promises to love you, cuddle you and be the cat you always wanted. For more information on Boris, please email amber@hitor.org.

Meet Leah and Lulu, and they are lifetime BBFs — “best bunny friends” — and they need a home together. They truly are “snuggle” bunnies! The shelter needs to find them a foster home ASAP. Their foster mom is moving out of state! If you can be their new foster home — or maybe you want to keep them for yourselves, please email hitorbunnytrail@gmail.com.
