Hi Tor List of Adoptable Pets 5/10/18

Look deep into his eyes!! Could Gunner be any cuter with that head tilt. Gunner is Hound/Pointer/Retriever mix who was found as a stray on Strawtown Road. He has sadly been at the shelter since April of 2017. He’s about 2 years old and very smart. He learns quickly, loves to go on long nature walks and his favorite toys are squeaky! As you can see, he is beautiful dog with an expressive face who will cuddle up with you, once he gets to know you. We will never know his past but he appears to not have been an “in the house” dog because he was very unsure of how to play with toys or walk on a leash when he first arrived. He can also be shy toward strangers when he first meets them. But Gunner has been working very hard to learn how to play gently with his toys. He is mastering his leash skills thanks to some awesome volunteers who take him to the weekly training class. Do you have experience with the Hound/Retriever breed? If you do, then Gunner is the dog for you! He would prefer a home with no cats because he seems to think they are very fun to chase! He gets along with some dogs his size or bigger, but would need a meet and greet to make sure. Since he is still learning his toy and food manners, Gunner would need to be in a home with children older than 12. If you are interested in Gunner, please call the shelter.

Khali is about two years old. Khali’s owner dropped this puppy off at a kennel and forgot to come back. Don’t worry it’s ok, the people at the shelter want to find an owner to love Khali as much as Khali will love them! Khali loves snuggling with humans and toys. You can give Khali any toy and happiness abounds! Khali  is strong, so older children would be best. A meet and greet would be most important.

This little pint-sized almost three-year-old bully mix is Bee. She is small on stature but don’t let this little petite girl fool you. She will hang with the big dogs when it comes to her distance of walking, playing or any activity that requires physical strength. Bee has a gregarious and exuberant personality. She absolutely adores people. Bee has been with us a couple times and we believe, part of her coming back is her energy has been misunderstood. Bee is a high-energy girl and is happiest when she has a lot of activity such as long walks and playing time. She would really benefit from an owner who will include Bee in their long walks and hikes. Bee would prefer to be an only pet and live with teenage children. Do you want a bestie whose face will make you melt and will be able to keep up with you on your long walks and hikes? If so, come visit Bee at the shelter.

Hope is a 10 1/2-year-old female tiger coat green-eyed cat who was surrendered to the shelter in September 2017 from Clarkstown because her owner could no longer care for her. She is a sweet senior cat who would love to live in a home instead of the noisy shelter. Hope has hope that her forever family is out there somewhere.

Asparagus is a nearly two year-old male cat who came to the shelter as a feral stray from Chestnut Ridge in March 2017. Asparagus is described by the staff as an energetic and playful cat who would do well with other cats. He is FIV+ so he would need to go with cats who are also FIV+. The staff feels he would do best with a family who has owned cats before. How can you not fall in love with his little face? Both Asparagus and Hope are both at the shelter not the annex.

Cinderella is a friendly 9-month-old female lionhead bunny mix with soft fluffy black fur, and a cuddly personality! Cinderella loves children and other gentle pets. For more information, please email us at Hitorbunnytrail@gmail.com.
