Federal Charges Brought Against Accused New City Bank Robbers

Federal charges have been brought against three Rocklanders accused of Friday’s attempted bank robbery in New City. The U-S Attorney for the Southern District of New York, the FBI and the Clarkstown police Department announced yesterday 34 year-old Jason Parris of Nyack and 27 year-old Demetrice Young of Spring Valley burst into the Key Bank on South Little Tor Road with weapons and wearing masks, threatened bank employees and then made their way to a getaway car being driven by 24 year-old Iyibia Brown of Monsey. They didn’t make it far and were nabbed near the Palisades Parkway entrance ramp. All three are charged with bank robbery and conspiracy, each count carries a 20 year maximum prison sentence. Parris and Young are also charged with a weapons count, adding at least another 7 years to the sentence, if convicted.
