Hi Tor List of Adoptable Pets 7/6/17

Rockett is new to the shelter and has only been with us a couple weeks. He appears to be a Shepherd/Rat Terrier mix. As you can see he is very handsome and has a regal appearance. Rockett is a medium sized dog and knows most of his commands. He walks well on a leash and is very calm. He enjoys sitting with the volunteers on the benches and has quickly become a staff favorite. Rockett would love to meet you!

This sweet girl is Hennessy. Hennessy is a ten year old terrier mix who hasn’t had it so easy. Hennessy was diagnosed with cancer shortly after she arrived at Hi Tor a couple months ago. Upon further testing the doctors told us Hennessy’s heart is just too weak to handle the anesthesia and the surgery in general. We are heart-broken and wish we could do more for this poor girl. Although we provide the utmost care at the shelter we feel a home for Hennessy to live out the rest of her time is the best place for Hennessy. We are reaching out to you to have it in your hearts to help find a foster where she can be happy and live out her last days. Hennessy is a senior and would benefit from being an only dog in her household. She likes her walks, knows her basic commands and is house trained. Although, she is doing great and is active right now, we are not sure how much time she has left. If your heart is big enough to love this girl, please contact the shelter and file an application. You can also email our foster coordinator Michael, michael@hitor.org

Fortune is a 2 year old beautiful brindle terrier mix who was brought to the shelter as a stray by Ramapo police. She has been at the shelter since May and is an absolute sweetheart of a dog. She has such a loving side to her, walks very gently on a leash and cant get enough of being cuddled by volunteers. She is a medium sized dog who has a calm and even tempered personality. Stop by and meet this loving cuddle bug.

This gorgeous little kitten is Cairo and she is ready for adoption. This baby is slightly FIV positive but we have every confidence she will grow out of it. She will be blood tested again in 2 weeks. You can contact Nixie to schedule a meet and greet or if you have any other questions, please email Nixie at gentlesouls@aol.com.

Angel is a 3 1/2 yr old  cat who came to the shelter after being found as a stray. She is a low energy and affectionate girl. Angel would do best in a quite, low traffic home with mature children and adults. She has not shown an interest in other cats but might do okay living with other calm cats like herself.

Brooklyn is a larger male cat who was surrendered to the shelter in June. He is a special cat who has an old injury to his rear leg which was never treated. He is a fun cat who likes to be held. He is being evaluated by our vets but he doesn’t appear to be in any pain and is still able to get around quite nicely. Please come visit Mr Brooklyn!
