List of Adoptable Pets 5/18/17

Brooklyn is a 4-year-old terrier mix who was surrendered to the shelter thru no fault of his own, because his family was evicted. Brooklyn starts off a bit shy at first but then when he feels comfortable he warms right up. He’s a very friendly outgoing boy after he warms up, who will need continued leash training. He is housebroken. Brooklyn should be the only pet in the house and should be with older teens and adults because he is so active.

Scottie is a 7 year-old pit mix who has been at the shelter for over 3 years. Scottie is the most senior resident at the shelter but thankfully has been in foster care with one our wonderful staff members. He was found as a stray in Stony Point in December of 2013. He is a large, predominantly white dog with patches of brindle. A perfect leash walker, he does not get excited when he meets other dogs. He is fun loving and a volunteer favorite. He would be a great addition to an active couple who likes outdoor activities but also loves their down time. He would be happiest with a calm and consistent owner, who has experience with large breed dogs. Because of his size, he would be happiest in a home with no children. He is social, sweet natured and intelligent. Because of his ability to learn, he responds well to training and knows all his sit, stay, paw commands. Come and meet this majestic looking dog. You will be delighted with him.

Momma is about a 5-year-old female pit bull mix who came to the shelter as a stray. With just a quick glance you can see she was used for breeding and was probably dumped when she was no longer useful. Momma doesn’t hold a grudge against humans, though. She is a super-sweet, lovable gal who is very friendly and low-maintenance. She loves to be outside and enjoys short walks just to stretch her legs. She would love a home where she could just veg out and relax on a nice comfy blanket or her human’s lap. She does get along with some dogs but would need a meet and greet to make sure they connect. She does not do well with cats. Come meet this little gem.

Cody is an 8-month-old neutered male lop mix. He is a true baby, and loves attention. Cody is doing well with his litter box training. For more information, email us at

Dorothy is one of our sweet Calicos! This little darling is so playful and loving! She loves to be held, get treats, and she loves her catnip! This girl has been waiting for her forever home for a long time now. You email Nixie at to set up a meet and greet!

Bob is our favorite outdoor kitty! This sweet boy is one of the friendliest ferals (and cats in general) that you will EVER meet. The second you sit on the floor; he climbs into your lap and plops his bottom down. We believe he was tossed out of a home when he was younger because he is too friendly to be a true feral. Because of his personality, we believe Bob could make a perfect indoor cat! You can send an email to Nixie at to schedule a meet and greet!
