Afternoon News Update 11/14

For the second time in less than 24 hour hours, a brush fire has broken out in Harriman State Park. Rockland County fire director Gordon Wren Jr. told the Journal News that the second fire is much bigger than the first one. Area fire departments have yet to release more information on the fires as they work to completely put out both fires. (Source: LoHud)

Mamaroneck village police are searching for two men who were caught robbing two people at gun point last Friday night. The robbery occurred outside of the Chase Bank on Boston Post Road at around 11 p.m. Authorities used surveillance footage from the bank in an attempt to ID the robbers, but found they were wearing masks and dressed in all black. This weekend, hundreds of plunged into the cold waters at Glen Island Park as part of Westchester’s 8th annual “Freezin’ For A Reason.” The event is held to raise awareness and money for the Special Olympics. More than $100,000 dollars was raised by the Westchester event. (Source: LoHud)

In local sports news, The New York Knicks face off against the Dallas Mavericks at home tonight; game time is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. The Brooklyn Nets meanwhile are in Los Angeles to play the Clippers tonight at 10:30 p.m.
