An Englewood city police officer has filed a 15-page complaint in the Bergen County Superior Court alleging that officers were scheming to get overtime pay while working regular shifts. Officer Charles Silva claims that two superior officers, as well as multiple others, conspired against him with internal investigations after he threatened to expose their scheme. Officer Silva has been with the department since 2006 and is seeking protection through the court as a whistleblower. (Source: NewJersey)

West Milford police discovered the body of a man who was reported missing Monday night after he went kayaking on Greenwood Lake. The 46-year-old man, whose identity has not been released, was found near the north end of Fox Island. Police are currently investigating the man’s death and have not commented on a possible cause. Ramapo Central School Districts officials are deciding whether or not to change the district’s name to Suffern Central. The name change would help the district differentiate itself from East Ramapo. The school board held a public hearing last night to discuss the name change and was met with mixed reactions from the community. If the name change were to happen, it would not happen until next month when officials plan to seek permission from the state. (Source: LoHud)

In national sports news, the World Series continues tonight after the Cubs crushed the Indians 9-3 last night and were able to push the series to a deciding game seven. Both teams will have star pitchers taking the hill tonight; Kyle Hendricks of the Cubs and his 16 regular season wins will take on Corey Kluber and his 18 regular season wins. Game time is scheduled for 8 p.m.
