In the upcoming September 9 Democratic Primary race five candidates filed petitions for a seat on the Spring Valley Board of Trustees. On Tuesday it was announced that three of those five candidates had their petitions thrown out, leaving appointed Trustee Vilair Fonvil to face off against 52-year old Chrispin Eugene, who is a small business owner running behind the idea that he will work for the village and help fix the divide between the board members and mayor that has caused so much controversy since the Mayor took office in January. Fonvil must run to keep his appointed seat for the remainder of the term, endning in November 2015. The two will also face Joseph Gross in September, who is running a write-in campaign on the Conservative and Working Family lines.
