A Pomona man and former chief of internal medicine at Nyack Hospital pleaded guilty to selling drugs, a federal charge, and was released on half a million dollar bail. Dr. Ronald Discenze was arrested Tuesday after being accused of prescribing oxycodone to an undercover police officer in December. Discenza was indicted on felony charges of conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute a controlled substance and distribution and possession with intent to distribute. Discenza was placed on professional probation in New York state for five years and is being investigated in negligence, malpractice, misrepresentation, deception, fraud, and failure to maintain moral character by the New York State Board of Professional Discipline.
