County Executive Ed Day and the Legislature approved the reinstatement of 5 Directors from the previous administration on Tuesday. Day stated that the action to keep the 5 people in their positions does not mean that he won’t continue rebuiliding the county government, if members of the administration are willing to work with the new structure, they will be given the opportunity to do so. The five that have been re-appointed are Highway Superintendent – Skip Vezzetti, Office for the Aging Director – June Molof, Health Commissioner – Dr. Patricia Schnabel Rupper, Human Rights Commissioner – Ram Nagubandi and Director of Veterans Services – Jerry Donnellan. Day also appointed Myrnia Basshargrove from the Personnel Department as the Community Relations Director. The County still needs to name someone to the position of Economic Development Director.
