According to Ramapo Town Attorney Michael Klein a state Judge ruled that a religious school that was illegally housing students in a single family home be shut down. Judge Margaret Garvey stated Friday that the Congregation Lizensk violated several building codes, including having a dormitory, cafeteria, worship rooms, and classrooms, and was operating the school on Carlton Road with about twenty students residing there in January, despite a certificate of occupancy as a single- family home. Klein stated that if the congregation refuses to vacate the building they will be charged with contempt of court.
