Medicaid breakdown on property tax bill

It’s almost the end of the month,time to mail that tax payment! Property tax bills in Rockland have traditionally included a breakdown of services but, for the first time this year, it also includes a breakdown of the Medicaid portion. Property owners in Rockland will pay a total of $105.96 million in property taxes. More than half, $68.3 million dollars is the medicaid portion. Federally mandated, New York and Michigan are the only ones that pass on a portion of the state’s share of Medicaid to local governments.
