Monsey House Fire

Nearly eighty- five volunteer firefighters responded to a call for a house fire at 35 Dolson Road in Monsey in freezing temperatures at 11:30 AM on Tuesday. According to Chris Kear, the county’s Deputy Fire Coordinator, the fire spread through 5,600 square foot house quickly and the building was completely destroyed. Kear stated that there were five people in the home at the time of the fire, the owner’s mother, wife, their seven- month old son, their four- year old son, and a housekeeper. They all escaped the fire without injuries. Ramapo Fire Inspector and teh Rockland Arson Unit are further investigating the cause of the fire, though they believe it to be accidental.
