19- Year Old Commits Suicide in Jail

A nineteen- year old New City resident committed suicide while being held in the Rockland County Jail on charges of a second- degree robbery, third- degree criminal possession of a weapon, fourth- degree criminal possession of a weapon, and second- degree reckless endangerment. According to police Francis Donnelly was found dead in his cell around 4:00 PM on Sunday after he had allegedly hanged himself. Donnelly was arrested in September for discharging a weapon during an altercation in which he attempted to steal a man’s bike on the Joseph Clarke Trail in Tappan. This is the first suicide in the jail since Sheriff Louis Falco took the job in January 2013.
