Town Councilman and Spring Valley mayoral candidate Daniel Friedman announced Wednesday morning that he would not be continuing in the race. Friedman came in fourth in the September Democratic Primary, but continued running on the Independence and Conservative lines. At a press conference the former candidate held he stated that he would be supporting the winner of the primary, Demeza Delhomme, as a show of unity within the Democratic Party. About his decision Friedman stated, “The reality is we will have solved nothing if we do not address the greatest challenge that we face, that of division and disunity in our village.” Delhomme will face Republican candidate Allan Thompson in the November 3rd election, as well as third party candidates Bernard Charles, Chrispin Eugene, Vilair Fonvil, and Calherbe Monel, after he beat current Mayor Noramie Jasmin in the Democratic Primary.
