The Clarkstown Police Department arrested a 31- year old Bronx man on Monday for possession of counterfeit bills. According to Sergeant Jo Ann Fratianni, Vito Cerbone was arrested at 9:00 PM Monday night in the parking lot outside of the Kohl’s in Nanuet, after he attempted to return $206 worth of purchases he had made at the Kohl’s location in Woodbury, in exchange for cash. Cerbone was charged with eleven felony counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument, as well as attempted petty larceny and criminal possession of a stolen property, both misdemeanors. Police discovered eleven counterfeit $20 bills n Cerbone’s possession. He is also being accused of unsuccessfully attempting to exchange five counterfeit twenties for a $100 bill at the Stop And Shop in Nanuet earlier that afternoon.
