According to Orange and Rockland spokesman Mike Donovan about 14,000 customers throughout Rockland were without power Thursday afternoon due to the intense storms that hit the county. By 6:30 PM about 10,300 residents had power restored to them, and the company held daytime crews through the evening to help restore power to the remaining 2,000 costumers in Rockland and 1,500 throughout surrounding counties. According to Donovan, as of 7:30 AM there are still groups of multiple outages reported through the entirety of the county. Updates are still coming in, but O&R workers will continue working on the remaining issues through the day. To check power restoration status visit www.oru.com or call 1-877-434-4100. If you need to report an outage at your residence make sure you have your 10-digit account number or phone number and be sure to mention if your neighbors are out as well.
