County Legislator Ed Day requested a committee meeting last month, to question the causes of United Water New York’s late notice to costumers warning them of the high levels of turbidity in the water. The company provides water to a majority of the county and apparently found high levels of turbidity, due to the presence of algae and manganese, in early july, though they did not send notice to residents until august 16. The discussion will take place at the environmental committee meeting Thursday, September 12 at 5:30 PM at the Allison-Parris County Office Building in New City and will be open to the public.
