The ballots have been counted and the results are in for the Tuesday September 10th Democratic Primary. According to the County Board of Election’s website David Fried beat out Ilan Schoenberger for the Democratic spot in the November general election’s race for county executive, where he will be facing republican Ed Day. Fried received 7,164 votes and Schoenberger received 5,896. Schoenberger will be facing Fried and Day in November on the working families and independence lines. For the Spring Valley Mayor race, Delhoome won the primary with 599 votes, followed by current Mayor Jasmin with 460 votes. And for Suffern Mayor, Patricia Abato beat John Keegan with 365 votes to his 335. She will face Keegan on the working families line and James Giannettino on the republican and independence lines in November. And the Haverstraw Highway Superintendent results show Wargo with 1,438 and Piperato with 1,054. In the race for Clarkstown Highway Superintendent Wayne Ballard gained the Democratic spot with 261 votes. He will face Dennis Malone in November, who won the write in for the working families line. The election showed 16,932 voters turned out to the polls Tuesday from 6 am to 9 pm. 14,811 of those were Democrats.
