Dagan Lacorte, Mayor of Suffern, has once again been removed from the ballot for the Democratic primary in September. Lacorte, a candidate in the race for County Executive, was reinstated to the ballot in July after being removed due to challenges brought to his petition signatures by fellow Democratic candidate David Fried. After appealing with the State Supreme Court, Mayor Lacorte was put back on the ballot for a little over one week, before the court ruled Wednesday that the signatures were invalid. According to the Supreme Court’s appellate division, Lacorte was unable to identify which signatures he felt should have been ruled valid and that the court was mistaken in denying the dismissal of the petition. Lacorte, who is endorsed by Senator David Carlucci, stated on Wednesday that he will be addressing the issue shortly, planning to appeal this decision with the State Court of Appeals. The September primary now includes Democratic candidates David Fried and Ilan Schoenberger. Vladimir Leon has decided to run a write in campaign after also being removed from the ballot in July. Ed Day is running in the general primary in November on the Republican line.
