Dagan Lacorte, Democratic candidate for County Executive released a statement Monday saying that he has been officially returned to the ballot. In the statement Lacorte said that the court ruled to restore his name, and that it is now up to the voters choice in September. Lacorte was removed from the Democratic primary ballot, along with fellow democrat Vladimir Leon, in July, when candidate David Fried moved for signatures on their petitions to be disqualified saying that the majority of them came from non- Rockland residents or non- Democratic party members. Both Leon and Lacorte filed appeals of the decision with the State Supreme Court immediately following the decision. In the statement Lacorte invited voters to a reception on August 19 for campaign support with Senator David Carlucci who announced that he would be endorsing Mayor Lacorte on July 23. The results of Lacorte’s appeal mean that the Democratic primary is now made up of candidates Ilan Schoenberger, David Fried, and Lacorte.
