East Ramapo parents and citizens are planning a rally for tonight’s school board meeting, demanding action for last Tuesday’s outbreak from the school board’s attorney, Christopher Kirby from the Long Island based firm, Minerva & D’Agostino. Many are calling for the firing of Mr. Kirby for his tirade, which included multiple obscenities, many of which were directed at parents. Erika Travan, a member of the Save Our Schools Coalition says that the group’s goal is to have the state become involved in the East Ramapo District. “From the moment they were hired, they’ve been disrespectful to the public community and no lawyer should behave like that.” Travan said about the topic. The rally will be held before tonight’s school board meeting, during which the Board of Education will decide what steps to take moving forward.
