Ramapo Children Receive Free Bikes Before Boulders Game

83 lucky boys and girls from the East Ramapo School District left Provident Bank Park with brand new bikes and helmets Sunday.

The bike giveaway was organized by the East Ramapo School District’s Family Resource Center and was sponsored by the Barnum Financial Groups for Life.  The Connecticut-based nonprofit believes that “children should be getting exercise as well as exploring their communities.”  The Westchester Human Resources Management Association also chipped in $2,000 to cover the cost of free Boulders baseball tickets for the kids and their parents.

The children had no clue about the bikes, thinking they were just going to a Boulders game, but were quickly surprised with the brand new two wheelers before the game.  A few kids even took a spin through the stadium before the Boulders took the field against the Capitales.
