Ballots were sent from the NYS Thruway authority to 268 people in Rockland and 106 in Westchester residing near the Tappan Zee Bridge giving the them the chance to vote on whether 2 million dollar noise barriers should be part of the replacement project. A meeting was held yesterday at the Best Western in Nyack to discuss the barriers and their appearance. For the barriers to go up, at least 50 percent of the ballot holders must vote, and a simple majority must vote in favor of building them.
